PurposeThe Resettlement Programs Supervisor plays a critical role in leading a team of case managers and employment specialists. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality of initial resettlement services, including Reception and Placement, Matching Grant, Refugee Social Services, Ukrainian Humanitarian, and Preferred Communities. The supervisor will work closely with local partners, including Departments of Social Services, health departments, and healthcare providers, to ensure timely resettlement service provision and address any challenges that arise.
Responsibilities- Welcome and orient refugees to the community through the provision of core resettlement services and ongoing case management.
- Hire, onboard, train, and supervise Case Management and Employment Staff.
- Oversee the provision of cultural orientation.
- Assist Community Engagement and Housing staff with securing appropriate and affordable housing for new refugees.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local resettlement partners, including Departments of Social Services, public school systems, employers, health departments, and healthcare providers.
- Coordinate multi-system problem solving among these entities to facilitate refugee self-sufficiency.
- Support case management and employment staff to remove refugee barriers to employment and realize the goal of family self-sufficiency.
- Ensure the documentation of all contacts and services in client case files and maintain case note logs.
- Ensure compliance to R&P, MG, UHP, and PC contract requirements through consistent, timely, and robust case file review.
- Stay up-to-date on program changes and coordinate regular trainings for case management and employment staff.
- Partner with volunteer specialists to organize volunteer assistance to welcome refugees.
- Advocate on behalf of refugees and refugee-serving voluntary agencies.
- Attend trainings and conferences as requested by supervisor.
- Keep informed about refugee and immigrant issues and available services to refugees.
- Represent the program at meetings and speaking engagements relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in refugee resettlement required.
- At least 2 years' experience mentoring and training staff is required.
- Familiarity with local services available in Wilmington, NC preferred but not required.
