Position Overview:
As a Personnel Security Specialist II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our personnel security operations. Your expertise will be essential in managing and processing background investigations and security clearances.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare case files for initial vetting requests by thoroughly reviewing and analyzing security questionnaires and relevant documentation.
2. Conduct comprehensive background checks to assess risk levels and update case summaries with detailed actions taken.
3. Perform investigative checks, including Personnel Investigation Processing System reviews, credit evaluations, and FBI checks.
4. Safeguard sensitive information while reviewing continuous vetting results.
5. Utilize business processing systems effectively, maintaining the personnel security database known as eWORKS.
6. Compile and research pertinent personnel security information to create detailed case summaries.
7. Deliver exceptional customer service and draft various correspondence related to personnel security matters.
8. Manage your assigned caseload efficiently to meet established timelines.
9. Assist Federal personnel with administrative tasks related to security protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a security administration environment, specifically in personnel security and background investigations.
2. At least two and a half (2.5) years of experience in case management adhering to relevant guidelines and executive orders.
3. Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust clearance.
4. Familiarity with personnel security case management systems; knowledge of eWorks is preferred.
5. Proven experience in effective communication with clients and drafting relevant correspondence.
6. Experience supporting FDIC operations is highly desirable.
Alternative Qualifications:
1. Personnel Security Specialist I with a minimum of two (2) years in a security administration setting.
2. At least one (1) year of experience in researching and analyzing background investigation materials.
3. Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust clearance.
4. Proficient in business process systems and personnel security case management systems.
5. Knowledge of integrity, fitness, suitability, and security regulations is essential.
6. FDIC support experience is highly desirable.
