Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Oversee the inmate population consistently, including during meals, work assignments, visitation, and furloughs.
  2. Ensure the safety and well-being of inmates, staff, and visitors.
  3. Conduct daily inspections of living quarters.
  4. Document and report maintenance issues identified during weekly inspections.
  5. Perform weekend phone checks with inmates' employers.
  6. Collect and document inmate earnings.
  7. Carry out all necessary counts in accordance with established policies.
  8. Facilitate the intake process for all new inmates.
  9. Participate in all staff meetings as required.
  10. Maintain all daily, weekly, and monthly logbooks, along with any other necessary documentation.
  11. Authorize inmates for work and furloughs, ensuring all required forms are completed.
  12. Ensure inmates return all identification, except for their inmate ID cards, upon returning from external activities.
  13. Perform miscellaneous filing and record-keeping tasks.
  14. Utilize the company time and attendance system for clocking in and out.
  15. Must be capable of executing the primary functions of the role with or without accommodations.
  16. Attend all mandatory training as specified by policy.
  17. Must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  18. Report all Workers Compensation injuries, regardless of medical necessity, to your immediate supervisor, the Business Administrator, or the Facility Director.
  19. Report any violations of company policy or ethical standards that you are aware of, regardless of the individuals involved, to your immediate supervisor or the Facility Director, or to the HR Department if necessary.
  20. Immediately report any unsafe conditions that could impact clients/inmates or employees to your immediate supervisor or the Facility Director.
  21. To qualify for promotion, you must demonstrate organizational skills and possess strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  22. To be eligible for advancement to a supervisory role, completion of supervisory/team-building training is required. This can be achieved by obtaining the "How to Supervise People" CD from the corporate office and passing all assessments with a minimum score of 80%.

Qualifications

Experience:
  • Preferred three years of experience in the criminal justice sector.
  • Willingness to train candidates with relevant skills from related fields.
  • All applicants must possess an FDLE Corrections Certificate.
