Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-focused receptionist to become part of a dynamic pathology billing office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Engagement:
  • Welcome patients both in-person and via phone with a courteous and professional attitude.
  • Respond to patient questions regarding billing statements, insurance policies, and payment methods.
  • Assist patients in comprehending and resolving billing discrepancies.
  • Accurately and securely process patient payments (cash, check, credit card).
  • Effective Communication:
  • Handle a significant volume of incoming and outgoing calls, including retrieving voicemails and ensuring timely callbacks.
  • Conduct professional outbound calls to address billing concerns with private pay patients and those at risk of collections.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Execute data entry tasks related to patient records and billing information with precision and efficiency.
  • Keep the reception area tidy and organized.
  • Support other team members with administrative responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service or administrative capacity.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential.
