Regional Vice President of Human Resources Job Description

The Regional Vice President of Human Resources is a key member of the Highgate Hotel team, responsible for overseeing the human resources function across multiple hotels in the west coast region. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills to drive business results and improve employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies to support business objectives and improve employee engagement.
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals to provide guidance and support to hotel managers and employees.
  • Collaborate with hotel managers to develop and implement employee development programs and succession planning.
  • Provide guidance on employment laws and regulations, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement employee recognition and reward programs to recognize and reward employee contributions.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Develop and implement HR metrics and analytics to measure employee engagement and retention.
  • Provide HR support to hotel managers on employee relations, performance management, and talent development.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve employee skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement company-wide initiatives and programs.
Requirements:
  • At least 10+ years of progressive human resources experience in a hotel or related industry.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Previous HR leadership experience is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of employment laws and collective bargaining is required.
  • Must be able to travel to the market and operate within PST/MCT time zones.
  • Long hours sometimes required.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
