Key Responsibilities


In this position, you will take charge of creating the next-generation multidisciplinary design system utilized for the development of aerospace jet engines.

You will also be involved in the construction, deployment, and upkeep of this system.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Collaborating with Product Owners to create engineering software that aids in the design of jet engine components.
  • Developing methodologies, tools, and utilities that empower a diverse user base to design and analyze components from parametric geometry definition through to design and analysis.
  • Working closely with design teams to identify their needs and deliver solutions that enhance productivity.
  • Ensuring that the integrated design environment facilitates reliable and seamless transitions between disciplines and teams, both upstream and downstream.
  • Integrating software to utilize commercial engineering codes and High-Performance Computing resources.
  • Participating in design and code evaluations, including the verification and validation processes.
  • Communicating promptly about significant issues or developments.
  • Ensuring thorough documentation of technical data and methodologies, and reporting results to management.
Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering or software development.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing physics-based engineering software.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++/C#, NX Open, APDL, and bash/shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with integrating Commercial Software APIs.
  • Experience in developing, compiling, and deploying Windows-based desktop applications.
  • A demonstrated ability to comprehend engineering customer requirements and formulate software-based solutions to meet them.
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery, heat transfer, mechanical, or aerodynamic design tools.
  • A solid understanding of gas turbine components and design principles.
  • Strong skills in cross-functional teamwork, communication, and presentation.
  • A proven track record of collaborating with diverse teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Experience with Lean and/or Agile project methodologies.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent upon the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
