Overview

The Culinary Health Aide is tasked with the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with established cycle menus. This role encompasses food handling, meal preparation, patient meal service, and the utilization of standardized recipes and procedures, alongside maintaining cleanliness of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals following cycle menus.
  • Ensure adherence to safety codes and infection control protocols.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and educational programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Report any suspected violations of laws or policies.

The ideal candidate will exhibit self-direction, accountability, and professionalism. They should be adaptable to change, seek guidance when necessary, and maintain composure under stress while delivering exceptional service. Teamwork and a willingness to assist colleagues are essential.

Patient Demographics:

This position serves a diverse patient population, including adolescents and adults requiring surgical intervention or pain management.

Physical Demands:

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and push/pull moderate weights with assistance. The role involves standing or walking for extended periods, with exposure to various environmental conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for employment in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification required.
  • Prior experience in food service is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary for job-related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Collaboration:

  • Adhere to staffing schedules and demonstrate teamwork.
  • Participate in department meetings for educational purposes.

Customer Service:

  • Provide exceptional service to all customers, including staff and physicians.
  • Communicate effectively regarding equipment and supply needs.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain adequate stock levels of dietary supplies.
  • Perform cleaning and decontamination of dietary areas as per policies.

Financial Responsibility:

  • Conserve resources and participate in cost-saving initiatives.
