Lead Engineer for Wire Harness Production

Position Overview:
The Lead Engineer is tasked with overseeing and providing support for all technical functions within their designated area.

The Lead Engineer will receive guidance from senior Engineers and Management to develop the necessary skills to effectively support production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Offer leadership assistance to team members, especially during off-peak periods.

- Conduct daily briefings with team members to assess production timelines and ensure timely output.

- Inform area Supervisors of any potential delays in meeting production targets.

- Demonstrate expertise in the operation and upkeep of all machinery within the area.

- Analyze problems, propose, and execute solutions for internal production challenges and client design concerns.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to facilitate the introduction of new products into the production line.

- Engage in the creation and/or modification of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

- Assist with process and documentation updates as necessitated by internal and client-driven engineering modifications.

- Work alongside Production Management and Quality Assurance to address production challenges and provide constructive feedback.

- Utilize troubleshooting abilities to resolve issues related to processes, product quality, safety, and identify machinery needing maintenance.

- Support the training and growth of operations team members.

- Aid area Supervisors in preparing and distributing annual performance evaluations for team members.

- Ensure employee safety during emergencies; adhere to medical and safety protocols established by the organization.

- Uphold 5S standards within the area.

- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by Supervisors.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred.

- Proven strong technical skills are essential.

- Capability to learn and execute all responsibilities of team members in the area.

- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

- Exceptional organizational skills.

- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.

- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

- Must be team-oriented with a proactive mindset.

- Commitment to fostering and maintaining a team-centric culture.
