Position Overview

The Lead Electrical Technician will oversee the formulation of strategies, financial plans, and project frameworks for new developments, relocations, and expansions within a multi-site healthcare organization. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance of existing building assets and systems. The workplace is characterized by growth and dynamism, accommodating new business initiatives and additional locations throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations and diagnostics of new systems and repairs to guarantee quality standards. This includes thermal imaging and electrical testing of insulation performance.
  • Assemble and install electrical panels, wiring harnesses, conduits, and various electrical apparatus.
  • Respond promptly to all service requests, efficiently diagnosing and rectifying electrical systems.
  • Communicate estimated repair timelines to affected parties.
  • Install new equipment and wiring to enhance infrastructure as necessary.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs, ensuring ongoing upkeep and repair of building assets, systems, and equipment.
  • Build relationships with key departmental leaders, formulating and executing facility requirements for emerging and expanding business units.
  • Employ a strategic project management approach to ensure projects align with corporate objectives and meet specified requirements.
  • Create a consistent methodology for project planning and scheduling by identifying critical milestones that support the achievement of project goals.
  • Ensure the optimal operation of building assets, systems, and controls.
  • Direct and manage vendors for repairs, preventative maintenance, and new installations.
  • Assist with other related duties and special projects as required.
  • Accept additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and essential equipment.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of manual and power tools.
  • Familiarity with NEC standards and company safety protocols, including OSHA 10 or 30 certification and all local regulations related to assigned work.
  • Experience in coordinating services related to building operations and maintenance.
  • Experience supervising contractors and vendors.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment processes, including background checks, drug screenings, and reference verifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in highly regulated industries.
  • Associate degree in electrical engineering technology.
  • Licensed electrical journeyman.
  • NFPA-70E certification.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes, and hazardous materials.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Training

  • All job-specific, safety, and compliance training will be assigned based on the job functions associated with this position.

Additional Information

  • This role may require occasional travel and availability during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • The position may necessitate after-hours responses to emergency situations.
  • On-call duties may require after-hours responses for technical emergencies not explicitly related to assigned job responsibilities.
  • Weekend and holiday work may be required at times.
