Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize sound engineering principles, product specifications, and research data to develop designs for systems and products within the semiconductor industry.
  • Conduct engineering calculations encompassing structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics challenges.
  • Create and modify Creo Parametric CAD models and detailed drawings, from simple components to complex assemblies.
  • Assess the feasibility of product proposals, troubleshoot issues based on technical inputs, and develop new designs while adhering to safety criteria.
  • Employ statistical methods to optimize designs, ensuring 'first time right' outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive product/system designs and associated engineering documentation for prototype and production releases.
  • Manage project tasks, including report generation, schedule maintenance, design reviews, and interdepartmental coordination.
  • Engage in design reviews for unique customer-driven projects, product enhancements, and new designs.
  • Develop and execute engineering project plans, including task scheduling and resource/cost estimations.
  • Travel to engage in technical discussions with customers and suppliers.
  • Assist marketing and vendors in preparing cost estimates for non-standard options and new features.
  • Support the development, installation, and testing of hardware to verify performance.
  • Create and validate test plans and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth product transitions into manufacturing.
  • Evaluate change requests and manage engineering change orders.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. Advanced degrees are highly preferred.

Experience: Candidates with a Bachelor's degree should have a minimum of 10 years of experience, while those with a Master's degree should have at least 5 years. Ph.D. holders may qualify with less experience.

Skills: Experience with semiconductor capital equipment is essential. Knowledge of ALD deposition products is advantageous. Familiarity with CE, NFPA, Semi S2-95, and other relevant standards for semiconductor manufacturing equipment is required.

Understanding of materials such as metals, plastics, surface coatings, and finishes is crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, CREO, and AutoCAD is expected. Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and/or ISO 1101:2017 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is preferred.

Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team to meet complex project requirements and specifications is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to develop effective solutions to engineering challenges are necessary.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to present design concepts professionally. A commitment to quality and adherence to documentation standards is expected.
