We provide structured solutions in private markets and invest opportunistically across the capital structure in liquid markets. D2 combines fundamental analysis, thematic research, and differentiated sourcing with an event-driven approach across real assets, specialty finance, and structured credit.

Position Overview

D2 is looking for a qualified Associate to become a vital part of its investment team. The ideal candidate will possess an investor's mindset, demonstrating the ability to form well-reasoned perspectives with a keen interest in diverse asset classes and sectors. Adaptability, a willingness to undertake various roles, and a proactive attitude are essential traits for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in all aspects of the investment process, including thesis development, sourcing, financial modeling, and analysis.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and industry research while managing legal documentation and portfolio construction.
  • Prepare internal information and investment materials, monitor portfolio performance, and manage associated risks.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities from multiple perspectives and propose suitable investment structures across the capital structure and strategies.
  • Interact directly with external stakeholders, including management teams, bankers, strategic partners, and service providers.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, contributing to various facets of the firm's operations.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field with superior academic achievement.
  • A minimum of 2-4+ years of finance experience, particularly in specialty finance, asset-based finance, corporate credit, real estate, and structured products.
  • Prior experience in buyside roles or financial institutions group (FIG), securitization, real estate, or structured credit investment banking is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong skills in finance, accounting, presentation, and valuation.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities, including data manipulation and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear investment theses.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, creative problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
  • Strong ethics and integrity, an ownership mentality, and receptiveness to feedback.
