Investment Banking Analyst Program, Comerica Securities The Investment Banking Analyst Program is a demanding full-time position tailored for new and recent graduates, aiming to familiarize them with the essential principles and procedures of investment banking, particularly in the areas of merger, acquisition, and divestiture advisory services, along with select junior capital and private placement tasks. Analysts collaborate closely with seasoned investment banking professionals to promote the firm's advisory offerings to potential clients and to carry out advisory assignments for various entities. These entities may include both existing clients of Comerica Bank and corporations or organizations that are not yet affiliated with the broader firm; clients span both privately held and publicly traded companies across diverse industries and regions. The Analyst program is structured to last two years, with the possibility of extending to a third year for outstanding performers. The program commences with an intensive training regimen that introduces new Analysts to the fundamental aspects of financial analysis and valuation. New Analysts will gain exposure to the comprehensive range of Comerica's capital markets and related product offerings, including Loan Syndications, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Foreign Exchange. In exceptional cases, based on individual performance, direct promotion to Associate at the conclusion of the program may be available without the necessity of an MBA or similar advanced degree. A two-year program featuring formal education in finance, analysis, valuation, and practical training. Professional growth through assessments, coaching, team collaboration, and mentorship. Direct engagement with senior and executive leadership through participation in small, project-oriented deal teams. A collaborative and supportive team culture. Acquire comprehensive knowledge of Investment Banking and Capital Markets products and services, including M&A advisory, junior capital raising, Debt Capital Markets, and Loan Syndications. Understanding of Derivatives and Foreign Exchange. Client Segments: Middle Market businesses across manufacturing, industrials, business services, and related sectors, along with clients from Comerica's national specialty groups, including Technology & Life Sciences, Environmental Services, International, National Dealer Services, Food & Beverage, Consumer, Equity Fund Services, and Large Corporates. Analysts are required to pass a background check and fulfill registration with the securities industry regulator by successfully completing the necessary securities examinations. Training The finance training component of the program encompasses coursework in accounting, debt and equity capital markets, financial analysis, modeling, and valuation, with portions delivered by recognized training organizations. Analysts will also receive self-study materials to assist in their preparation for the required licensing examinations. The overall program is rigorous and comprehensive, combining the depth of a larger investment bank's training with the personalized attention characteristic of a seminar. Training Program Completion Developing a thorough understanding of the complete range of Comerica's Investment Banking products and services. Successful completion of all training coursework and practical applications. Fulfillment of securities licensing requirements: Participants will be allocated time and support to prepare for and undertake the necessary regulatory examinations to obtain the required securities licensing.
