Position Overview:
The Investment Analyst will collaborate with a team of investment professionals on focused deal teams to implement private equity investment strategies within the U.S. Residential Mortgage sector. In this role, the analyst will be pivotal in the capital markets and financing of mortgage whole loans, aligning with Hudson's investment management objectives for its private equity vehicles.
The analyst will primarily assist in the operations of COLT and VOLT, which are recognized as leading mortgage securitization platforms in the RMBS capital markets.
The ideal candidate will gain exposure to a diverse array of investment strategies, capital markets financing frameworks, and analytical tasks in a dynamic and demanding environment.
Responsibilities:
As an Investment Analyst, you will support all facets of financing and capital markets activities to implement Hudson's U.S. Residential Mortgage strategy. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with investment banks, underwriters, legal advisors, and other RMBS transaction participants to finance pools of mortgage whole loans.
- Overseeing financing transactions throughout the interim warehouse and securitization lifecycle.
- Contributing to asset management efforts for existing investments, which includes industry monitoring, asset reporting, financial analysis, and the development and execution of business strategies.
Maintain a significant role in the capital markets and financing of mortgage whole loans, ensuring alignment with Hudson's investment management goals for its private equity vehicles.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related discipline is required, along with one year of experience in a similar role involving financial modeling, analysis, and data management for residential mortgage products.
Candidates must possess one year of experience in the following areas:
- Managing portfolio performance by constructing and supervising a selection of assets;
- Generating monthly reports on investment returns, cash flows, and portfolio securities performance;
- Assisting in the monthly and quarterly reporting processes;
- Conducting quantitative analysis on key performance drivers of securities and proposing actionable strategies;
- Developing and maintaining financial models to assess securities and evaluate their performance under varying market conditions.
