Discover After School, established in 2019, is dedicated to enriching children's lives through engaging after-school STEAM programs. We provide a blend of enjoyable and educational experiences in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM), aiming to ignite creativity and innovation among our participants. With a reach of over 2,000 students in the local community, we aspire to broaden our influence by launching preschools and cultivating community collaborations. Our mission is to inspire the next generation through diverse STEAM opportunities, including before and after school programs, seasonal camps, training resources, and community events.

Role Summary:

The Site Director plays a crucial role in ensuring that our Before & After School programs adhere to established guidelines. This position requires effective supervision of staff and maintaining robust communication with school administrators and area managers. The Site Director is responsible for organizing a structured program that includes educational and recreational activities tailored to various age groups. Exemplifying positive role model qualities is essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional service to students, families, colleagues, and school administration.
  • Maintain precise records related to billing, attendance, and health and safety protocols.
  • Oversee and mentor staff to guarantee adequate supervision of children and successful execution of scheduled activities.
  • Address the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the children in care.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and build healthy relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to district policies, state regulations, and educational standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison for parents, administration, and students.
  • Demonstrate positive behavior and guide children towards responsible conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Child Care Directors Credential and a minimum of 2 years of childcare management experience.
  • Completion of 45 Hours of DCF Child Care Training.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with children.
  • At least six months of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Successful completion of Criminal Background and Drug Screening.
  • High School Diploma.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills in English.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both children and school administration.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Punctuality for all scheduled shifts is essential.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of facilities and equipment.

  • Complete additional tasks as required.

Job Type: Part-time / Full-time

Compensation: $17 per hour, paid biweekly.
