About the Position

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical and legal research skills. As a Senior Contract Services Officer, you will be responsible for performing leadwork and advanced journey level duties related to contract administration, including preparing requests for proposals, reviewing bids and proposals, negotiating and awarding contracts, and advising project staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review contracts, including requests for proposals, requests for bids, and requests for qualifications
  • Negotiate and award contracts, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
  • Advise project staff on contract administration and procurement procedures
  • Perform analytical and legal research work to support contract administration and procurement activities
  • Develop and implement purchasing standards and specifications
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, service providers, and departmental staff

Requirements

  • One year of experience in the class of Contract Services Officer (Level II) in Sacramento County service, or
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, or a closely related field, and two years of full-time professional experience purchasing commodities, acquiring contracted services, or writing service or construction contracts

Additional Requirements

  • Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License, or higher, is required prior to appointment to this class
  • The County may access criminal history information on all candidates who have accepted a conditional offer of appointment for this class

Probationary Period

The probationary period for this classification is six (6) months.
