Job Summary:

The Senior Accounting Officer will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the Accounting Division at Headquarters in Sacramento. This includes overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee the management of budgets, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including the California State Civil Service Act.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Supervise and train accounting staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial management and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
