Role Overview:

The Chief Strategy Officer will serve as the guardian of the concession's Strategic Plan, overseeing both local and global initiatives. This role involves supporting the CEO to ensure timely execution of strategic actions. The CSO will leverage strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to act as a vital internal advisor to the CEO, facilitating the development, monitoring, and execution of the Company's Strategic Plan to further its mission, objectives, operational excellence, profitability, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide counsel to the CEO regarding the formulation, execution, and assessment of the Company's Strategic Plan.
  • Conduct risk analysis and address complex issues to deliver strategic insights and effective solutions.
  • Review operational reports, financial indicators, and budgets to monitor the Company's advancement towards its strategic and financial goals.
  • Prepare executive presentations and documentation for board meetings, investor events, and employee gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to present performance updates to stakeholders and participate in quarterly Board meetings to report on the Strategic Plan's implementation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to help the CEO identify new market opportunities, including significant projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and strategic partnerships.
  • Engage in the analysis, negotiation, and execution of major capital investment projects related to project expansions and connectivity enhancements.
  • Analyze and implement optimizations in capital structure.
  • Contribute to the selection of executive management roles and assess performance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and technology throughout the organization to optimize processes.
  • Assist the CEO in executing people, culture, and change management initiatives.
  • Promote the organization on both local and national levels to strengthen community relationships.
  • Report on the progress of the Strategic Plan and its outcomes to key stakeholders, tailoring information to their relevance.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required; a Master's Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Management, Sustainable Urban Planning, or related fields is strongly preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a managerial capacity, ideally with oversight of roadway contracts, design & construction, and large infrastructure project operations.
  • Significant experience in concession operations and/or infrastructure project acquisition and management is preferred.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience in project management and change management is essential.

  • The CSO will act as a change agent, leading through influence.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and general managerial capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in resolving complex problems and navigating ambiguity within a multifaceted organization.
  • Exceptional listening, persuasion, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Familiarity with US concession management and a solid understanding of US customs, norms, and government relations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other PC-based applications.
Flexibility and Mobility:
  • Willingness to travel and work the hours necessary to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Commitment to meet the Company's in-person work requirements for the role.
  • Willingness to relocate to any company location within the US or Canada is required.
  • Preferred willingness to relocate to any global company location.
Work Environment:
  • The work environment is typically quiet.
  • Travel is required, with regional and international trips as necessary.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds may be required.
  • Specific vision abilities include the ability to adjust focus as needed for computer use.
  • Regular communication is required, including talking and listening.
