Role Overview:

Summary:

The Chief Strategy Officer will serve as the custodian of the concession's Strategic Plan, overseeing both local and global initiatives. This role involves supporting the CEO in ensuring timely execution of strategic actions. The CSO will leverage strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to act as a vital internal advisor to the CEO, facilitating the development, monitoring, and execution of the Company's Strategic Plan to enhance its mission, objectives, operational excellence, profitability, and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic counsel to the CEO regarding the formulation, execution, and assessment of the Company's Strategic Plan.
  • Conduct risk assessments and analyze complex issues to deliver strategic insights and effective solutions.
  • Review operational reports, financial metrics, and budgets to monitor the Company's progress toward its strategic and financial goals.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and materials for board meetings, investor conferences, and employee gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to present performance updates to stakeholders and participate in quarterly Board meetings to report on the Strategic Plan's implementation.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders to assist the CEO in identifying new market opportunities, including significant projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and strategic partnerships.
  • Engage in the analysis, negotiation, and execution of substantial capital investment projects related to project expansions and connectivity enhancements.
  • Oversee the analysis and implementation of capital structure optimizations.
  • Contribute to the selection of executive management roles and assess performance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and technology throughout the organization to optimize processes.
  • Assist the CEO in executing people, culture, and change management initiatives.
  • Promote the organization at local and national levels to strengthen community relationships.
  • Report on the progress and outcomes of the Strategic Plan to key stakeholders based on relevant information.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required; a Master's Degree in Finance, Engineering, Business Management, Sustainable Urban Planning, or related fields is strongly preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a managerial capacity, ideally with oversight of roadway contracts, design & construction, and large infrastructure project operations.
  • Significant experience in concession operations and/or infrastructure project acquisition and management is desirable.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Expertise in project management and change management.

Professional Skills:

  • Ability to inspire teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The CSO will act as a change agent, leading through influence.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and general managerial skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to resolve complex problems and navigate ambiguity in a multifaceted organization.
  • Outstanding listening, persuasion, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Knowledgeable in US concession management or similar business practices, with a solid understanding of US customs, norms, and government relations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other PC-based applications.

Flexibility and Mobility:

  • Willingness to travel and work the hours necessary to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Must meet the Company's in-person work requirements for the role.
  • Commitment to relocate to any company location within the US or Canada is required.
  • Preferred commitment to relocate to any global company location.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is typically quiet.
  • Travel is required as needed, both regionally and internationally.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 10 pounds may be necessary.
