Role Overview:

Summary:

The Chief Strategy Officer will serve as the guardian of the concession's Strategic Plan, overseeing local and global initiatives by supporting the CEO in ensuring timely execution of related actions. Utilizing strategic acumen and problem-solving expertise, the CSO will act as a principal advisor to the CEO, driving the development, monitoring, and execution of the Company's Strategic Plan to fulfill its mission, objectives, operational excellence, profitability, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic counsel to the CEO in defining, implementing, and reviewing the Company's Strategic Plan.
  • Assess risks and complex challenges to deliver strategic insights and effective solutions.
  • Review operational reports, financial metrics, and budgets to evaluate the Company's progress towards its strategic and financial goals.
  • Prepare executive presentations and materials for board meetings, investor conferences, and employee gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to present performance updates to stakeholders and participate in quarterly Board meetings to report on the Strategic Plan's implementation.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders to help the CEO identify new market opportunities, including projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and strategic partnerships.
  • Engage in the analysis, negotiation, and execution of significant capital investment projects related to project extensions and connectivity enhancements.
  • Implement capital structure optimizations.
  • Contribute to the selection of executive management roles and assess performance for maximum efficiency.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and technology to optimize processes across the organization.
  • Assist the CEO in executing people, culture, and change management initiatives.
  • Promote the organization at local and national levels to strengthen community relationships.
  • Report on the progress and outcomes of the Strategic Plan to key stakeholders as relevant.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred in Finance, Engineering, Business Management, Sustainable Urban Planning, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of managerial experience, ideally in roadway contracts, design & construction, and oversight of large infrastructure projects.
  • Significant experience in concession operations and/or infrastructure project management is desirable.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience in project management and change management is essential.

Professional Skills:

  • Ability to inspire teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The CSO will act as a change agent, leading through influence.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and managerial capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and navigating ambiguity in a complex organization.

  • Fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with US concession management and a solid understanding of US customs and government relations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other PC-based applications.

Flexibility and Mobility:

  • Willingness to travel and work the hours necessary to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Commitment to meet the Company's in-person work requirements.
  • Willingness to relocate to any company location within the US or Canada.
  • Preferred willingness to relocate globally.

Work Environment:

  • Typically quiet work environment.
