Position Summary
The Commercial Lender plays a crucial role in the bank's operations by overseeing and cultivating commercial loan accounts. This position is essential for ensuring that lending practices align with the bank's policies while maximizing profitability and minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Client Interaction**: Engage with loan applicants to gather and evaluate financial data, assessing their creditworthiness and the viability of loan requests.
2. **Loan Structuring**: Negotiate terms for credit extension, including costs, repayment methods, and collateral requirements.
3. **Approval Process**: Authorize loans in accordance with established lending policies and serve as a liaison for higher-value loans.
4. **Portfolio Management**: Monitor existing loans and client creditworthiness, conducting regular assessments through direct business inspections and financial reviews.
5. **Collections**: Manage overdue accounts, implementing strategies for recovery and maintaining communication with clients.
6. **Business Development**: Proactively seek new business opportunities through outreach to potential clients and cross-selling additional bank services.
7. **Committee Participation**: Actively contribute to various internal committees, providing insights and recommendations on lending practices.
8. **Community Engagement**: Participate in community initiatives to enhance the bank's visibility and foster new business relationships.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance is preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in commercial lending or credit analysis, with a solid understanding of credit and loan administration.
- Strong knowledge of lending regulations and documentation requirements.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with clients.
Working Conditions
