Division Overview

Crown's Closures, Aerosol & Promotional Packaging (CAPP) Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for the largest consumer packaging companies in North America. Our distinguished list of clients includes SC Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, and Unilever.

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including month-end processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and requires a strong understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries and account documentation
  • Prepares general ledger account and bank reconciliations
  • Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize the company's financial position
  • Maintains accounting policy database
  • Identifies control gaps and develops and implements appropriate control procedures
  • Assists in preparation for internal and external audits
  • Develops financial analysis and cost accounting skills
  • Oversees payroll and AP functions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment with various departments
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Three years of plant manufacturing experience
  • Approximately 10% overnight travel
  • May occasionally need to work evening or weekend hours
Preferred Requirements
  • Packaging industry experience
  • AS400 experience

  • Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Working Conditions

Generally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic. May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is frequently loud.
