Division Overview

Crown's Closures, Aerosol & Promotional Packaging (CAPP) Division specializes in manufacturing a wide range of packaging solutions, including closures, aerosol packaging, and promotional packaging. Our clients include top consumer packaging companies such as SC Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, and Unilever.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including month-end processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and accounts documenting business transactions
  • Prepare general ledger account and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements and other reports to summarize the company's financial position
  • Maintain accounting policy database
  • Identify control gaps and develop and implement appropriate control procedures to resolve control deficiencies
  • Assist in preparation for internal and external audits
  • Develop financial analysis and cost accounting skills
  • Oversee payroll and AP functions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment with a variety of departments
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Three (3) years plant manufacturing experience
  • Approximately 10% overnight travel
  • May occasionally need to work evening or weekend hours
Preferred Requirements
  • Packaging industry experience
  • AS400 experience
Competencies
  • Must have very strong PC skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel (advanced)
  • Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy
  • Position requires someone who is self-motivated, analytical problem solver and has excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring completion
