About the Job

The Employee Benefits Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of client accounts with a focus on employee benefits programs. This role ensures the timely and accurate execution of all aspects of benefits administration, including renewals, enrollments, client communications, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing day-to-day client interactions, and addressing inquiries related to employee benefits plans (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness programs).
  • Oversee and facilitate the annual benefits renewal process, including reviewing carrier quotes, preparing proposals, and conducting open enrollment meetings for clients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of client enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits administration systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide strategic guidance on plan designs, cost-containment strategies, and compliance with state and federal regulations (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA).
  • Prepare and deliver detailed benefits reports, including claims analysis, utilization reviews, and market comparisons to help clients make informed decisions.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with insurance carriers, vendors, and other third-party administrators to resolve issues and negotiate terms for client benefit programs.
  • Coordinate and conduct client benefit presentations and employee education meetings, explaining coverage options, plan features, and addressing employee questions.
  • Assist in the implementation of new client benefits programs, working closely with internal departments to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Ensure clients stay compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, providing updates and recommendations on changes in benefits legislation.
  • Support the producer or benefits advisor by preparing proposals, client communications, and renewal documentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to client requests and proactively managing benefit plan performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field (a plus).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits account management or related experience.
  • Life, Health, and Accident Insurance license (required).
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health, life, dental, vision, and disability insurance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on client service.
  • Proficiency in benefits administration platforms, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
