About the Role

Woodruff Sawyer is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our team. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for managing a complex book of business, coordinating the renewal process with clients and the Account Management team, and building strong carrier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an assigned complex book of business with appropriate revenue.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the renewal process with clients and the Account Management team.
  • Build strong carrier relationships and leverage these as needed to assist the team and ensure the best client solutions.
  • Mentor team members on in-depth knowledge of procedures and sophisticated issues.
  • Advising the Client Relationship Director of existing client relationship status and raising issues as needed.
  • Owning presentations to clients during the renewal process.
  • Supporting Account Managers in developing specifications, securing underwriting information, analyzing existing coverages, and making coverage comparisons.
  • Finding opportunities to expand coverage for existing clients.
  • Maintaining specific industry knowledge and technical expertise to serve as a proactive resource to clients and the account team.
  • Staying abreast of market changes, developing trends, and maintaining awareness of competition.
  • Participating in relevant industry and trade associate meetings and events.
  • Networking with clients beyond day-to-day contacts; expanding relationships to influence executive leadership and decision makers within client organizations.
  • Establishing profitability metrics across the book of business and navigating fee negotiations with clients.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant insurance brokerage experience; proven ability to resolve more sophisticated client issues.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong technical skills, including broad understanding of insurance coverages and solutions.
  • College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Advanced insurance designations preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and shift focus as priorities change.
  • Life, Accident, and Health license required upon hire or within 3 months of obtaining position.
  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to travel as required.
What We Offer

Woodruff Sawyer offers a competitive salary range of $126,644 – $211,073, with an anticipated salary between these figures. This position is eligible to participate in an incentive program to earn additional compensation with a target equivalent to 8% of salary annually, based on individual and Company performance.
