The Events Director oversees the comprehensive standards of Event Sales and Event Planning, including the supervision of Event Managers and administrative personnel. Key responsibilities include continuous staff training and various administrative tasks. This role is accountable for meeting individual booking targets and has overarching responsibility for achieving the property's Event objectives. The Events Director should possess expertise in all facets of the Event Manager role. This position reports to the Director of Sales, Marketing, and Events.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage both short-term and long-term planning as well as the administration of Event Sales and Event Planning.
Formulate and propose the budget, marketing strategies, and objectives, and operate within those approved frameworks.
Ensure that budgeted sales and profits in all event areas are maintained or exceeded.
Develop and execute effective marketing strategies to drive catering revenue.
Assess each event opportunity to guarantee that it can be adequately serviced.
Track the sales performance of Event Sales Managers.
Craft innovative and creative menus in collaboration with the culinary team.
Collaborate closely with the Chef on pricing specialty menus in conjunction with the Director of Sales, Marketing, and Events.

Train, oversee, and collaborate with event staff to secure and coordinate banquet and event functions, as well as the planning, merchandising, and execution of these functions.

Work in partnership with the Banquet Manager and their team to ensure that quality standards are consistently met and to enhance overall banquet setups.

Lead the event team in fostering long-term, value-driven customer relationships that support the achievement of hotel Event sales goals.
Oversee all aspects of the event department, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, service, and administrative processes.
Guide and mentor employees to embody Hyatt's service standards and protocols.

Qualifications:
Proven ability to effectively engage with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in hotel Event Sales and Planning (preferably with Hyatt).
Experience in pre-opening hotels is preferred.
A service-oriented approach with strong presentation skills.
At least 3 years of experience in a senior position within an Event Sales/Planning context.
A degree in Hotel/Hospitality is advantageous.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

Maintain effective communication with Corporate Staff.
