Billing Operations Manager

Job Summary:
The Billing Program Manager will be responsible for evaluating and optimizing the billable revenue cycle functions across Cabarrus Health Alliance to maximize net revenue for the system. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, resolving billing issues, and implementing efficient billing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Billing Department: Lead and manage the billing department to ensure seamless operations and high-quality service delivery.
- Manage Billing Operations: Develop and implement effective billing processes, procedures, and systems to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
- Train and Guide Billing Staff: Provide mentoring and training to billing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in billing procedures and regulations.
- Review and Analyze Data: Conduct regular reviews and analysis of billing data to identify areas for improvement and optimize revenue cycle performance.
- Quality Improvement of Processes: Continuously monitor and evaluate billing processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Educate Staff on Billing Procedures: Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on billing procedures, regulations, and best practices.
- Coordinate Review of Charges and Recommend Changes: Collaborate with stakeholders to review and analyze charges, and recommend changes to optimize revenue cycle performance.
Requirements:
- Education/Experience: Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Certification in billing or revenue cycle management preferred. Certified coding specialist preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Medical Billing Practices: In-depth knowledge of medical billing practices, regulations, and guidelines.
- Knowledge of Billing Procedures and Regulations: Strong understanding of billing procedures and regulations, including payer regulations and guidelines.
- Proficiency in Billing Software and Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to Interpret and Apply Organizational Policies and Procedures: Ability to interpret and apply organizational policies and procedures, including those related to billing and revenue cycle management.
- Possess Ability to Effectively Assist with Wrap Audits and Denials: Ability to effectively assist with wrap audits and denials, including identifying and resolving billing issues.
- Strong Leadership and Team Management Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate and guide staff to achieve high-quality service delivery.
