Overview

Position Summary

The Patient Registration Supervisor oversees the daily operations and workflow within the Patient Registration department. Collaborating closely with management and leadership, this role is essential in ensuring exceptional service delivery to patients. The supervisor also supports staff in accurately registering and scheduling patients.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide effective leadership within the Patient Registration area.

- Offer constructive feedback and guidance to staff regarding errors.

- Coordinate training initiatives for registration personnel, ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements and maintaining comprehensive records of employee education and development.

- Conduct audits and review various departmental reports.

- Manage staffing processes, including the approval and denial of PTO requests, timesheet management, and performance evaluations.

- Assist with patient registration and pre-registration as needed to support team operations.

- Supervise the cashiering and valuables processes, including conducting regular audits.

- Engage in various departmental audits as required.

Physical Requirements

This position involves working in an office setting, necessitating prolonged periods of sitting, reading, and composing written documentation with frequent interruptions. Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. The role requires a functional sense of sight, hearing, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking skills and the ability to maintain focus are crucial, as is the capacity to adapt swiftly to changes. A valid driver's license in North Carolina is required.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. A background in hospital registration, insurance, billing, or billing follow-up is essential. Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail are critical. Previous supervisory experience is advantageous. Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute is required.
