Job Description

Lonza is seeking an experienced Automation Technical Manager to join our team in Vacaville, California. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to support our biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver automation solutions for capital projects, ensuring adherence to OT guidelines and engineering design standards.
  • Develop and maintain automation standards that maximize the value of existing Lonza best practices.
  • Manage software documentation efforts and assist with project schedule development and validation.
  • Supervise and manage external engineering contractors and software/hardware vendors.
  • Participate in FATs and SATs to provide automation support and ensure consistency and software revision control.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in science preferred.
  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP) preferred.
  • Extensive experience with design and operation of biopharmaceutical facilities, including manufacturing and support systems.
  • Experience with control systems (PLC, DCS, Loop controllers) highly preferred.
  • Experience in project management and coordination associated with the execution of capital projects in an industrial environment.
