About the Role

Amtec Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for identifying and recommending suppliers, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, and managing supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplier Identification and Recommendation: Investigate potential suppliers, research parts and materials availability, and prepare statements of work for procurement.
  • Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Conduct site visits, evaluate suppliers based on production capability, performance, delivery, and other key business criteria, and select suppliers for complex or technical materials.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate price, delivery, quality, and service with suppliers, develop alternate sources of supply, and administer procurement contracts.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, determine corrective actions to resolve impending supplier failure, and resolve shipment quality discrepancies.
  • Damage Claims and Rejections: Negotiate and settle damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes with suppliers.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare complex reports and analyses by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems, develop, coordinate, and implement improvement initiatives with key suppliers.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience: Six or more years of increasingly responsible related experience, with a demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Certifications: Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or APICS desired.
  • Skills: Proficient with standard business application software and specialized purchasing and/or materials systems, ability to establish goals and objectives, track and maintain regular meeting notes and actions, and organize and manage multi-layer projects/tasks.
