Job Overview

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to support our Aerospace client. The ideal candidate should possess at least two years of experience in aerospace procurement, particularly in direct commodity components or finished products.


Position: Procurement Specialist
Compensation: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour
Shift: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Contract Duration: 6 months temporary with potential for extension or permanent placement.


The role involves ensuring optimal quality, service, and value for products and services through proficient bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. Responsibilities include identifying manufacturing requirements, selecting suppliers, initiating purchase orders, and coordinating delivery. The position provides parts, equipment, services, and materials of limited scope and complexity.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquire a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.
  • Possess limited prior industry experience or have participated in student internship programs under supervision.
  • Certification in Purchasing Management (CPM) is preferred.
  • Understand key purchasing and negotiation techniques, principles, and general business operations.
  • Have a general awareness of legal and regulatory standards related to procurement.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Utilize standard business application software and specialized purchasing and/or materials systems (e.g., electronic data interface (EDI) or manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems).
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Research and analyze data to develop recommendations or resolve issues by referencing internal information and prior decisions.
  • Work with general direction and instructions regarding assignment scope, determining priority and order of tasks.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret financial documents.
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory bodies.
  • Define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Negotiate effectively to secure the best pricing and terms while demonstrating team competencies and participating in goal-setting and performance feedback.
