About the Role

The Field HR Specialist at HMSHost at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport is a key member of our HR team, responsible for providing administrative support and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing a positive HR presence with all associates and management within the branch.
  • Apply federal, state, and local laws, collective bargaining agreements, and corporate and local HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all required HR standards are understood and followed by associates.
  • Coordinate HR investigations and proactively interact with associates to resolve HR administration problems.
  • Support the full recruitment process, including posting new positions, conducting initial applicant screenings, and scheduling and tracking badging activities.
  • Respond to associate inquiries and questions related to pay, paid time off, scheduling, assignments, complaints, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform general administrative functions, including maintaining employee files, document retention, report generation, and processing changes to employee records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma
  • 3-4 years of administrative experience in a Human Resources function/environment
  • Coursework towards HR certification or demonstration of understanding of technical, statutory, and regulatory HR best practices
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents
  • Strong knowledge of HR technical subjects
