Job Overview

Rystad Energy stands as a premier independent research and consulting firm dedicated to the global energy sector. Within the Sales & Marketing division, the selected candidate will oversee a substantial portfolio of accounts, focusing on both renewal and expansion. This portfolio will encompass a diverse range of clients, including operators, oilfield service firms, midstream/infrastructure entities, and financial institutions.

The role is primarily office-based, although in-person client meetings will be necessary as required. The selected candidate must adeptly navigate the varying growth potentials of the clients, identifying both opportunities for expansion and risks associated with renewals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a significant portfolio of existing client relationships while identifying risks and opportunities for growth.
  • Engage with clients throughout the year to ensure a high renewal rate and effectively communicate new services.
  • Seek opportunities for sales growth within client subscriptions for both existing and new services.
  • Establish a network within each client to facilitate renewals and growth where applicable, ensuring that service usage aligns with client needs.
  • Manage client interactions through the company's CRM system.
  • Coordinate internally with research, sales colleagues, and management regarding activities and outcomes.
  • Provide insights and suggestions for product enhancements and new offerings, ensuring proper onboarding of new products and services.
  • Implement strategies to achieve annual sales targets.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in account management and sales within the energy sector or related fields.
  • A graduate degree is required; a postgraduate degree is preferred.
  • Experience negotiating with procurement and senior management.
  • Proven track record in selling research, software, or consulting services.
  • Familiarity with account management best practices and skills in generating new business.
  • Experience managing a large client base.
  • Knowledge of energy-focused data and software sales related to energy supply analysis, modeling, screening, and valuations.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to create value propositions tailored to specific client personas and company types.
  • Experience in selling subscription services is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in building new networks quickly and effectively.
  • Competence in using standard office tools and CRM systems.
  • Experience in sales pipeline management and accurate forecasting.
