Overview:

St. Peter the Apostle is in search of a passionate, seasoned, and mission-oriented leader to take on the role of Chief Educational Officer for the inaugural Catholic classical elementary institution. This innovative school is set to establish its foundation in the near future, aiming to provide a comprehensive educational experience from PK3 through 6th grade, with plans to expand to 7th and 8th grades subsequently.

The Chief Educational Officer will embody the mission of Catholic classical education, focusing on the development of wisdom and virtue, love and wonder, by enriching the spirit with truth, goodness, and beauty through the seven liberal arts. This leader will serve as the visible spiritual, educational, and administrative figure within the school community, ensuring the professional growth of the staff, the academic advancement of the students, and the nurturing of a positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and uphold the theology, spirituality, and liturgical practices aligned with the Catholic faith.
  • Act as a role model for Gospel values, reflecting the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Foster a school environment that embodies the Catholic faith and the values of the community.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding school-related matters.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and training to protect the well-being of all individuals.
  • Lead and develop school personnel by attracting, hiring, training, and retaining qualified faculty and staff.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to faculty and staff, promoting both spiritual and academic growth.
  • Oversee the curriculum development and ensure educational goals are set to cultivate critical thinking among students.
  • Engage with students and families, addressing concerns and promoting a strong Catholic culture.
  • Manage school finances, including budget preparation and compliance.
  • Serve as a community liaison, promoting the school and its mission through effective public relations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Faith Formation Program for students.
  • Encourage an inclusive environment for families of diverse faith backgrounds.

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with a commitment to ongoing spiritual development.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in education, leadership, or administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience and 5 years in administration/leadership, preferably in a Catholic or classical educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of Catholic classical education principles.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
