This role involves building and leading a dynamic management team, overseeing key departments such as Land Conservation, Development, Education, Outreach, and Operations, with a total of six direct reports and 24 staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizational Leadership: Inspire and develop a robust management team while executing the strategic roadmap for collaborative conservation efforts that benefit both wildlife and the community.
- Financial Oversight: Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring sound financial practices and reporting, while overseeing grant proposals and high-level fundraising initiatives.
- Program Management: Ensure the organization maintains its land trust accreditation and effectively manages policies related to risk, personnel, and legal compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary representative of the organization, articulating its mission and programs to various stakeholders, including nonprofit leaders, community groups, and public agencies.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in conservation or related fields.
- Strong financial management skills and experience in fundraising.
- Commitment to equity and inclusion within organizational practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
