Position Overview
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President is responsible for steering the organization towards its mission, strategic goals, and financial targets while reporting directly to the Board of Directors. This role involves building and leading a dynamic management team, overseeing key departments such as Land Conservation, Development, Education, Outreach, and Operations, with a total of six direct reports and 24 staff members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organizational Leadership: Inspire and develop a robust management team while executing the strategic roadmap for collaborative conservation efforts that benefit both wildlife and the community.
  • Financial Oversight: Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring sound financial practices and reporting, while overseeing grant proposals and high-level fundraising initiatives.
  • Program Management: Ensure the organization maintains its land trust accreditation and effectively manages policies related to risk, personnel, and legal compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary representative of the organization, articulating its mission and programs to various stakeholders, including nonprofit leaders, community groups, and public agencies.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in conservation or related fields.
  • Strong financial management skills and experience in fundraising.
