Job Summary

The Office of Unclaimed Property's Receipts and Wires Supervisor position plays a crucial role in our agency by managing and monitoring the Receipts and Wires unit. This role requires a highly skilled professional with experience in supervising employees, providing customer service, working in a high-volume production unit, and processing transactions with a high degree of precision per state law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, direction, and recommendations to state agencies, organizations, vendors, or others in the assigned fiscal oversight function(s) at the State level.
  • Review, analyze, reconcile, and/or approve financial transactions, system processes, reports, or other financial data within integrated financial information systems.
  • Interpret, explain, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures, as well as internal controls and reporting requirements.
  • Research, collect, analyze, and interpret a variety of data and reports; obtain and clarify information; and troubleshoot discrepancies, errors, unexpected results, or process flaws.
  • Makes determinations, defines solutions, and appropriate action that maintain data integrity and security such as updates, corrections, reclassifications, adjustments, or changes to user access.
  • Run queries and prepare, analyze, and distribute a variety of reports.
  • Participate in analyzing state accounting services, automated financial information system(s), or software application(s) to determine functional and technical requirements and ensure business and user needs are met.
  • Conduct special assignments and projects which may include system testing, upgrades, updates, and enhancements, statewide reporting, or compliance work.
  • Makes recommendations for changes to processes, procedures, and forms to improve efficiency and internal controls.
  • Use automated information systems and computer software to research, review, analyze, document, and report on financial information.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers and the public in person, electronically, or by written communication.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, ages, and races.
  • May maintain, review, verify, and update system tables and configuration to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations and meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Three years' experience in analyzing financial data or automated financial information system data, developing alternatives, and recommending and advising customers, management, or others on solutions.
  • Three years' experience in compiling, analyzing, and reporting on financial data to ensure effective and efficient accounting of funds or to make projections for financial planning.
  • Two years' experience in making recommendations for changes or improvements to financial processes, procedures, forms, or automated financial information systems.
  • One year of experience in financial project management such as planning, scheduling, staffing, coordinating, controlling, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the status of financial services or related automated financial information systems project, design, development or implementation.
  • Six months' experience in narrative report writing.
