Lead Water Resources Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee projects and assignments related to groundwater extraction and potable water supply initiatives.
  • Engage in business development as part of a client service team.
  • Perform technical assessments to facilitate planning and design activities for wells and water systems.
  • Assist in the creation of calculations, technical documents, reports, drawings, specifications, and various contract materials.
  • Verify performance or compliance with designs and specifications during the construction phase.
  • Support submittal evaluations, information requests, correspondence, change requests, and modifications for construction projects.
  • Conduct fieldwork as required for diverse projects.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with project teams, including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and engineers).
  • Successfully manage and deliver tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Adhere to the quality assurance and quality control processes established by Brown and Caldwell.
Qualifications:
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is mandatory.
  • Passion for working on projects involving groundwater, potable water, water recycling, and stormwater.
  • Possession of a California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Design of water infrastructure facilities (including wells, pump stations, pipelines, etc.), with a preference for groundwater infrastructure design experience.
    • Conducting engineering studies and analyses.
    • Managing projects or tasks, including oversight of budgets and schedules.
    • Strong technical skills with the ability to convey ideas and concepts clearly.
    • Exceptional technical writing and communication abilities.
    • Capacity to work independently as well as part of larger coordinated teams.
    • Willingness to perform fieldwork at various locations.
    • Familiarity with standard software tools such as MS Office, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on research and technical challenges.
