Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist IV to support our NWSC Crane program based in Odon, IN. This position will be responsible for the procurement of materials, components, supplies, and/or services for the company in accordance with procurement procedures, contract requirements, and federal acquisition regulations.

This is a hybrid position in which the individual will work three (3) days in the office and two (2) days remote.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Sourcing: Establish source of supply, negotiate price, delivery date, terms, and other necessary commitments based upon authorized requisition and comply with company policies and federal regulations.
  • Communication and Guidance: Provide guidance and information to requester that includes communication of procurement actions, or status and assist with special or complex requirements.
  • Procurement Administration: Adhere to procurement procedures to assure follow-up and administration of purchase order and agreement files are complete and accurate.
  • Procurement Process Management: Manage the procurement process from the development of the Request For Quote through negotiations, and execution of a Purchase Order, while documenting the procurement file in accordance with procedures.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor reports and the performance to critical metrics such as; On Time Delivery, requisition backlog, and P2P.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Provide input to overall procurement strategy and support the development of new capable suppliers to support future requirements.
  • Procurement Goal Achievement: Monitor performance to procurement goals and objectives, identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Dispute Resolution: In collaboration with leadership, negotiates and settles disputes with suppliers related to poor performance, late deliveries, invoicing issues, and non-compliance with Company terms and conditions.
  • Pricing Support: Provide input to Procurement strategy and pricing support for Business Development efforts.
  • Procurement File Review: Conduct Procurement file Peer Reviews and provide mentorship and technical guidance to lower tiered buyers.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and assigns personnel for given projects or tasks.
  • Interface with Leadership: Interface with procurement leadership to provide status, input, and communicate with other departments.
  • Compliance: Responsible for compliance of procurement procedures in maintaining an approved Purchasing System.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in procurement or related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
  • Experience: Eight (8) years' progressively responsible experience in procurement. Minimum three years Government environment procurement experience required.
  • Supervisory Experience: One (1) year experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Ability to serve as a subject matter expert in government procurement activities.
  • Federal Acquisition Regulations: Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) required.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of various computer programs required (ex: Word, Excel, etc).
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation and Decision-Making Skills: Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Task Management: Ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple tasks independently.
