Procurement Specialist IV

Amentum is currently seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist IV to support our NWSC Crane program based in the United States. This position will be responsible for the procurement of materials, components, supplies, and/or services for the company in accordance with procurement procedures, contract requirements, and federal acquisition regulations.

This is a hybrid position in which the individual will work three (3) days in the office and two (2) days remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices, delivery dates, terms, and other necessary commitments based on authorized requisitions and company policies.
  • Provide guidance and information to requesters, including communication of procurement actions, status, and assistance with special or complex requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement procedures to guarantee follow-up and administration of purchase orders and agreement files are complete and accurate.
  • Manage the procurement process from the development of the Request For Quote through negotiations and execution of a Purchase Order, while documenting the procurement file in accordance with procedures.
  • Monitor reports and performance metrics, such as On Time Delivery, requisition backlog, and P2P.
  • Contribute to the overall procurement strategy and support the development of new capable suppliers to meet future requirements.
  • Monitor performance against procurement goals and objectives, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions.
  • In collaboration with leadership, negotiate and settle disputes with suppliers related to poor performance, late deliveries, invoicing issues, and non-compliance with Company terms and conditions.
  • Provide input to procurement strategy and pricing support for Business Development efforts.
  • Conduct procurement file peer reviews and provide mentorship and technical guidance to lower-tiered buyers.
  • Lead and assign personnel for given projects or tasks.
  • Interface with procurement leadership to provide status, input, and communicate with other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures in maintaining an approved Purchasing System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in procurement or a related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
  • Eight (8) years' progressively responsible experience in procurement. Minimum three years Government environment procurement experience required.
  • One (1) year experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to serve as a subject matter expert in government procurement activities.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) required.
  • Knowledge of various computer programs required (ex: Word, Excel, etc).
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple tasks independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
