This position is responsible for handling a wide range of duties related to Accounts Payable at Creative Artists Agency. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of processing supplier invoices for goods and services provided, work on entry-level assignments requiring independent action and initiative to resolve issues, and assist with daily activities to support the Accounts Payable Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the A/P department.
Key Responsibilities- Process invoices and payment requests for multiple legal entities
- Adhere to contractual payment terms to ensure the smooth operation of the business while maximizing early payment discounts
- Communicate with vendors and colleagues in a professional and collaborative manner
- Analyze prior payments and research application errors using data analytical skills
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
- Research complex problem accounts and contact vendors to resolve account discrepancies
- Ensure method of payment and currencies are aligned for invoice transactions
- Coordinate setting up new vendors, international and domestic
- Strong communication skills
- Strong 1099 knowledge and experience
- Disburse checks via USPS and FedEx
- Review and reconcile vendor statements to transactions in the ERP system and resolve accordingly
- Assist and participate in the monthly closing process for assigned responsibilities
- Comply with all internal controls to ensure accurate financial records, particularly in relation to Corporate Signature Authority Matrix and SOX
- Prepare and provide requested information to external and internal auditors
- Ensure resolution of aged outstanding invoices still open to be paid in a timely fashion
- Assist the Accounts Payable Manager in the development of Processing Procedures/SOD/Desktop procedures
- Other duties as required
- High school diploma or GED, Associate's degree (A.A.) preferred, 2+ years Accounts Payable and/or General Accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information
- General understanding of fundamental financial concepts, practices, and procedures
- Some Excel and Word familiarity
- Ability to work and contribute in a team environment
- Strong sense of urgency and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills - a polite and professional demeanor when working with all levels of the organization, customers, or suppliers
- Ability to work efficiently with multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated; action-oriented and able to work independently
This role will be hybrid, based out of the Los Angeles office.
CompensationThe base hourly rate for this position is in the range of $24.00-$28.00. This position is also eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, wages may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
