Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a designated Radiology area, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing leadership to a team of radiologic technologists. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of radiologic technologists, ensuring that all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with VCU and VCUHS policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements such as ALARA and ACR guidelines.
  • Develop and implement new initiatives, programs, and policies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Radiology department.
  • Collaborate with other Radiology Supervisors, Managers, Faculty, and staff to ensure a high level of departmental safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Provide education and training to assigned team members, students, residents, and other learners.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) required for Diagnostic Supervisor.
  • Plus one of the following current specialty registries that is directly related to their department: ARRT in Mammography for Breast Imaging Supervisor, ARRT CT for CT Supervisor, ARRT MRI for MRI Supervisor, ARRT CV or VIR for Interventional Supervisor, ARRT CT or MRI required for 3D lab supervisor, (CI) Cardiac Interventional Radiography, (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, (RCES) Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Lead Tech radiologic technology experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing in a leadership role.
  • Previous work experience in an academic medical center environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Radiation Science, Business, or closely related field from an accredited program.
  • Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or closely related field from an accredited program.

The successful candidate will be able to adapt to frequent changes and work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
