Diversity and Inclusion Manager

RAND is seeking an experienced professional to lead our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts as a DEI Manager. This role will be responsible for promoting a culture of inclusion and belonging across the organization, advancing DEI strategies, and implementing operational activities and initiatives related to our multi-faceted portfolio of DEI programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Operationalize DEI strategies, policies, and initiatives, working closely with the Chief Diversity Officer and Employee Resource Group (ERG) chairs.
- Lead and support complex initiatives, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Develop and implement DEI programs and projects, including recruiting-related initiatives, skills building and professional development opportunities, and DEI communications.
- Manage organization-wide DEI programs to enhance the organization's understanding of DEI, promoting a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to RAND's ERGs, coordinating collaborative efforts across ERGs and other parts of the organization.
- Enhance employee learning experiences and foster cultural awareness through planning, coordinating, and facilitating events and programs in partnership with RAND's ERGs and other staff groups.
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience supporting and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and workplace practices.
- Proven project management skills and a strong track record of execution and the ability to navigate multiple priorities.
- Experience operationalizing DEI strategies and developing tangible action plans, and coordinating follow through with program/project implementation partners.
- Skilled at crafting and delivering presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
- HR or DEI-related certification.
- Experience guiding employee resources groups.
- Experience in a professional services, research, or academia environment.
Santa Monica, CA; this position is open to a hybrid (onsite/remote) work arrangement.
Salary Range$100,100 - $152,400
RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.
The salary range includes base pay plus RAND's sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken). In addition, RAND provides strong benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid time-off and more.
