Overview

This position is dedicated to overseeing and engaging in ethical and spiritual support initiatives for individuals within a designated state facility.

Key Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are essential and represent core functions applicable to all roles within this classification. These duties are not exhaustive and may encompass additional related tasks as necessary.

  • Organizes, coordinates, and leads worship services in alignment with the diverse religious preferences of the facility's residents, which may encompass various faiths and belief systems (e.g., Christianity, Islam, Judaism).
  • Develops and arranges religious programs and educational sessions facilitated by community volunteers.
  • Offers spiritual and religious guidance to individuals and families consistently and during critical moments.
  • Provides moral and spiritual assistance on both a routine and urgent basis.
  • Enhances the effectiveness of volunteer initiatives.
  • Collaborates with other professional staff to deliver comprehensive care.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS for Spiritual Care Coordinator
Candidates must possess education, training, and/or experience demonstrating proficiency in the following areas:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Divinity or a related discipline.
  • An ecclesiastical endorsement from a recognized religious organization and approval from that entity for institutional ministry.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in clinical or institutional pastoral care.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in individual or group counseling.
