Customer Service Specialist

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Specialist is to provide an exceptional shopping experience by fostering creativity among our customers and ensuring that they feel welcomed and valued. All team members contribute to sales through comprehensive product knowledge, innovative merchandising, and precise transaction handling.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

ENGAGEMENT

Welcomes every customer and utilizes a service model to address their needs. Engages customers with open-ended questions to understand their project requirements and guides them to the appropriate product locations. Maintains friendly conversations with customers regarding their projects while assisting them at various service points.

TRANSACTION MANAGEMENT

Handles customer transactions efficiently and courteously at service points. Responsible for lifting and organizing products from delivery areas to shelves. Unloads merchandise from delivery vehicles and sorts it according to company guidelines. Ensures shelves are stocked accurately and maintains cleanliness throughout the sales area.

SALES INITIATIVES

Encourages customer participation in store events and activities. Actively promotes sales through product expertise, suggestive selling, and building strong customer relationships. Works to minimize inventory loss by adhering to established policies and procedures.

TEAM COLLABORATION

Assists fellow team members to ensure collective success in meeting store goals. Collaborates with management and team members on various projects in a supportive manner. Aids in training new team members on customer service protocols and operational tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Experience: No prior experience necessary; however, 1-3 years in a customer-focused environment is preferred.

Part-time positions require flexible availability to meet store needs, typically averaging less than 28 hours per week. Open availability is essential, allowing for work during various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.

Capability to maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Strong communication skills in a collaborative setting.

Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules based on business demands.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the store.

Capable of lifting and arranging items as needed.
