Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute the operations of the Global Innovation and Design (GID) Lab, ensuring end-to-end high-quality client services with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Carry out administrative operations of the IIGE in collaboration with a highly invested team, contributing to the development of the staff team as a whole.
  • Advise the AVC and other unit and UWT leadership on strategic and tactical directions.
  • Build credible relationships with faculty, staff, and students to facilitate an effective organization.
  • Support members of the IIGE Community Advisory Board, Innovation Action Network, and community partners, as well as IIGE faculty and students, as needed.
Community Projects and Engagement:
  • Advising on the range of workshops, microcredentials, and executive education, including pricing, and lab booking process.
  • Creating draft scopes of work and invoices.
  • Executing logistics of workshops and design sprints.
  • Creating workshop and annual reports, including assessment and analysis.
  • Supporting externally funded faculty projects.
  • Presenting information about the GID Lab and facilitating community workshops as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in global studies or communication or human-centered design or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience within an academic or business unit, including increasingly responsible experience related to daily administration of all routine business operations and activities, including budget management, project coordination, and establishing/maintaining client relationships.
Additional Requirements:
  • Demonstrated record of managerial success, execution of initiatives, collaboration across diverse populations, and commitment to access and inclusion.
  • Practical experience in the fields of human-centered design or design research, student recruitment, enrollment, retention, advising/counseling, faculty support, and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and process improvement.
  • Proven ability to define issues, strategically plan options, and define solutions.
  • Strong software skills, including Microsoft Office suite and collaborative software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Track record of working effectively and collaboratively with the leadership of an academic center or department.
