Job Overview

At American Property Management, we are seeking a highly skilled Community Director to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our 91-unit mid-rise apartment community, ensuring excellent curb appeal and adherence to property policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily property walks to maintain high standards of appearance and quality.
  • Approve and maintain timecards for office and maintenance staff members.
  • Focus on resident retention and maintain high occupancy rates.
  • Handle sales and marketing ventures, promoting the company and property.
  • Track and manage revenue and expenses.
  • Prepare and maintain reports for upper management.
  • Collect rent dues in a timely manner.
  • Manage contract obligations and coordinate move-in/move-out related items.
  • Train, develop, and manage the performance of team members.
  • Oversee contractors and vendors, ensuring work completion meets American Property Management's Quality Standards.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in multifamily/student housing within the last 10 years.
  • 3+ years of experience managing an apartment community, including employee oversight.
  • Knowledge of Federal Fair Housing Laws, landlord-tenant laws, and ADA Laws.
  • Experience managing market-rate communities, Class A, and/or Class B communities.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • On-site and/or Knock experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
