POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Access Specialist plays a vital role within the legal team, focusing on two primary areas: client intake and outreach. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, a strong commitment to serving the immigrant community, and proficiency in Spanish and other languages.
CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Client Intake and Case Management
- Conduct initial screenings through phone calls and events to assess eligibility for legal services.
- Perform conflict checks and collaborate with legal representatives to select clients for consultations.
- Gather and summarize case information for legal staff.
- Maintain accurate records in the case management system and manage the waitlist for services.
- Schedule consultations and relay important information to clients.
- Adapt to evolving procedures and guidelines.
- Client and Community Outreach
- Engage in outreach efforts and maintain relationships with service providers to address community needs.
- Identify gaps in services and propose solutions to improve access.
- Track outreach activities and report on findings.
- Educate clients and the public about available programs and resources.
- Build partnerships with organizations that serve immigrant populations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 – 3 years of experience in customer service, client communication, or related fields.
- Proven ability to interpret in Spanish (both written and oral).
- Strong dedication to the mission of serving immigrants and refugees.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Office 365 applications and willingness to learn new software.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong multitasking abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Dependable, self-disciplined, and flexible.
- Ability to pass background checks and authorization to work in the United States.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
