Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Improvement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving lean manufacturing initiatives and supporting new product launch initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Manufacturing Processes: Design and conduct research programs to develop manufacturing processes, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. Collaborate with equipment vendors and solicit observations from operators to ensure efficient and effective processes.
  • Improve Manufacturing Efficiency: Analyze and plan work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout to optimize manufacturing efficiency. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to reduce waste and increase productivity.
  • Ensure Product and Process Quality: Design testing methods and test finished products and process capabilities to ensure quality and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address quality issues.
  • Provide Manufacturing Insights: Calculate production, labor, and material costs, review production schedules, and estimate future requirements to provide data-driven insights to support manufacturing decision-making.
  • Prepare Reports and Present Findings: Collect, analyze, and summarize data to prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders. Identify trends and areas for improvement and provide recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Stay Current with Industry Developments: Attend educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks, and participate in professional societies to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and operations, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and a basic understanding of Six Sigma methodology. Strong technology capabilities, including MS Office and general ERP knowledge. Ability to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance.
