Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the growth and development of children with special needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Classroom Environment and Instruction
  • Create a safe and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and development.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each child.
  • Employ a range of instructional techniques to support children's learning and development.
Interactions with Children
  • Establish positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Use positive behavior supports to encourage appropriate classroom behavior.
  • Participate in all aspects of care, including diapering, feeding, and positioning.
Interactions with Families
  • Maintain open and respectful communication with families.
  • Participate in Individual Family Support Plan meetings.
  • Complete quarterly assessments of children's developmental areas.
Interactions with Staff
  • Coach and mentor Teacher Assistants in developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
Training and Professional Development
  • Complete initial orientation and ongoing in-service trainings.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Policies and Procedures
  • Follow agency policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Level 2 Background check and drug test required.
