Job Summary

Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 1 to lead our culinary team at a prominent conference center and cafe in the heart of New Orleans. As the lead culinary person on site, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning: Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our clients and exceed their expectations.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering and inventory of all food and supplies to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Food and Labor Cost Control: Monitor and control food and labor costs to ensure profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 10 hourly employees, working closely with the Assistant General Manager to achieve team goals.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Ensure a safe and clean working environment for all employees and clients.
  • Quality and Presentation: Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Catering Production: Plan and execute catering events, including high-end board of director lunches and other special events.
What We Offer

Sodexo offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $65,000, based on education level and years of relevant experience. We also offer a traditional business schedule, with flexibility to work early evenings when needed. Our benefits package includes 3 weeks of paid vacation per year, medical benefits, and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Basic Education Requirement: Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Basic Management Experience: 2 years of management experience in the food or culinary services industry.
  • Basic Functional Experience: 1 year of work experience in food or culinary services, including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, and mall food courts.
