Job Overview

Salary: $60,000

Objective:

The Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advocating for safety standards at Hi-Lite Airfield Services, embodying the Think Z philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Safety Manager in executing safety strategies and ensuring adherence on a daily basis.
  2. Collaborate with the Safety Manager to formulate OSHA-compliant workplace policies and procedures.
  3. Ensure that all safety signage and postings are current and correctly displayed across facilities and vehicles.
  4. Conduct on-site safety evaluations, including assessments of safety equipment like fire extinguishers.
  5. Verify that all safety equipment is accurately calibrated, up-to-date, and that first aid supplies are replenished and within their expiration dates.
  6. Perform field safety inspections before or during projects to identify potential safety hazards.
  7. Offer recommendations to enhance workplace safety.
  8. Assist in various safety-related tasks as directed by the Safety Manager or Leadership.

Additional Duties:

  1. Aid the Safety Manager in promoting safety standards and safe operational practices.
  2. Support the Safety Manager in devising solutions for health, hygiene, and safety risks.
  3. Assist in the investigation of incidents to determine their root causes.
  4. Research safety materials and facilitate training for new hires and ongoing staff.
  5. Help the Safety Manager with follow-up actions and training post-incident.
  6. Maintain inventory records for all safety equipment across all locations and vehicles.
  7. Identify and procure OSHA and EPA compliance materials and safety gear.
  8. Organize and document Safety Committee meetings.
  9. Schedule and record minutes for Incident Review Team meetings.
  10. Provide safety-related support to all departments as necessary.

Qualifications:

  1. 1-3 years of experience in safety or a related field is preferred.
  2. Possession of OSHA 10, 30, or 40 certification.
  3. Willingness to travel 70% - 75% of the time.
  4. Possession or willingness to obtain a CDL license.
  5. Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  8. Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively while meeting deadlines.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills to build effective professional relationships.

Work Environment:

This position operates in both a professional office setting and outdoor environments, such as airfields. Standard office equipment, including computers and phones, is routinely used.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role require regular communication and the ability to stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time role, with hours that may vary from the standard Monday through Friday schedule.

Travel Requirements:

Travel is expected 70% - 75% of the time.

Education:

  1. High School Diploma is required.
